Even though Belton is a small town, there is no shortage of locally owned businesses that add to the town’s charm, and it is obvious that Belton residents love to support these local businesses because several more have opened recently, while a few more are beginning to expand. Bold Republic Brewing Company, Belton’s very own craft brewery, has outgrown its tiny location on North Penelope Street, and they have just announced that they will break ground on a new location in Temple.
The owners of Bold Republic, Adriane and Patrick Hodges, announced on July 29 via social media that they will be breaking ground on a “new and improved facility” in Temple, off of West Adams in Crossroads Park, which is projected to open for business sometime next year. They stated that their brewery will grow into a “15/30 BBL operation” that will allow them to begin to distribute their beers to other local restaurants, as well as adding a larger taproom to offer more options for their patrons.
According to their website, Bold Republic’s slogan is “community over consumption,” and they state that in their taproom, “you’ll quickly discover that we have friends more than customers...so stop by, kick back with a cold one, and make a new friend.” This friendly, community-centered atmosphere is definitely palpable whenever visiting the brewery. The staff is friendly and personable, the menu is ever-expanding, and there are always fun things going on, including a weekly trivia night and live music every weekend. Bold Republic, which has been providing craft brews and a community atmosphere to Belton residents since June 2018, has grown exponentially over the last three years, which demonstrates that the love the town has for their local brewery will undoubtedly follow them, no matter where they are located.
