It’s not often that you come across an old-timey candy and soda shop anymore. You know, the ones that have an extra “P” and “E” on the end of the word “shop,” which somehow makes them seem more vintage and fun. But in the newly renovated Katy Building in downtown Belton sits Z&H Old-Fashioned Candy, Toys, and Soda, a quaint shop that will transport you to a bygone era.

It’s that time of year again — spring is blooming, and people are dusting off the winter cobwebs and feeling the need to get rid of clutter. But sometimes, it’s not as easy as throwing old clothes into a bin and taking it to Goodwill.

Nolan Creek Brewery is about more than just enjoying craft beer — it’s the perfect place to build community and make new friends. Located on Penelope Street in the building previously occupied by Bold Republic Brewing in downtown Belton, the folks at Nolan Creek have created a cozy, welcoming place for locals to come together and have fun.

The Ralph Wilson Youth Club in Temple has become an integral part of many kids’ lives since its early inception as the Temple Boys Club in 1965. Today, RWYC offers awesome after-school programming for Temple, Belton and Academy ISDs during the school year, with full-day programs in the summer months.

Tucked away in the newly renovated Katy Building in Belton lies a culinary gem. Early Light Creperie transports customers straight to the streets of Paris with their delicious crepes that are simply to die for. The quaint and cozy creperie has lovely pink walls that are adorned with photos of Paris, which only adds to the magical Parisian atmosphere.
